here is my story
After 2 children and 2 years of working, parenting and studying to be a teacher, my health was less than stellar. At 5’3” and 225 lbs, I had a painful hip, severe foot pain, and ankle problems. The pain forced me into “survival mode” as I tried to enjoy being a music teacher and parent. In addition to the physical pain, I would go from feeling strong to needing to go lay down. But it wasn’t just my ability to be present and effective at work. My love for the mountains has always been a central part of my life, but to share that with my children, I needed to be able to climb them! It wasn’t just the mountains that had become off limits, it was also the bike rides, tennis matches, climbing walls- play. But I was clueless where to begin. Of course I had tried and failed just to eat healthy, much less lose weight. What changed? Well... I had spent a year of my life learning about learning. Accepting that I needed guidance, support, and accountability led me to reach out to my health coach.
